This year I was lucky enough to have tickets to Opening Day at Fenway Park, and it was amazing! With Pedro throwing out the first pitch, Steven Tyler signing “God Bless America” and of course Neil Diamond signing “Sweet Caroline” oh and I’m pretty sure that the Red Sox beat the Yankees too. Up top is my favorite picture that I worked for a couple hours on. Its the first pitch of 2010 and it took about 6 different pictures to get the right form I wanted. I think Im still going to go in and touch of some areas again. All the pictures I took of the game are below.

A couple of years ago I played around with Grooveshark but never really used it that much. Back in February Lifehacker had a ‘High Five’ for the best music streaming services and since I just installed windows 7 I am going to try and go without installing a media player (other than Zune which I only use for syncing). I decided to try out Grooveshark again. I noticed that on Lifehacker they listed VIP premiums from other sites but left out the VIP features of Grooveshark. I made a comment about this and was kindly gifted a year of premium service from Grooveshark. Some of the major premium features of Grooveshark VIP are Grooveshark Desktop application, mobile application and 50000 songs in your library. I love the Grooveshark Desktop application because it doesn’t require me to have my web browser open but still stream music. This is random ramblings but I thought that it bares mentioning how cool Grooveshark is and how generous they are for giving me a year of VIP service for a simple comment.

Today my Google business cards came in the mail! If you missed it early last week Google had a promotion for their Google Profiles that you could get 25 free business cards. So why not sign up when Google is giving away free stuff right? Anyways mine came in the mail today and they are pretty decent, not as durable as my regular business cards, but you can’t really complain when they are free! Baystate Championship Wrestling is an independent wrestling promotion based in eastern Massachusetts. My good friend Sean used to wrestle with them and is still doing some video work for them. He suggested me to them as a freelance web designer/ graphic designer. Recently I started working on their website. It presented a bit of a challenge since I am not that big of a wrestling fan, so it was interesting researching wrestling promotions and getting that look and feel. As the website is right now it is not “complete”. All the main pages are up and running, however it still needs some graphical items to tie it together. But overall it seems to be working well. Yes I caved, I am now on twitter. I resisted for so long because I didn’t see the point to it. I still don’t see the exact point of it, but hey I twitter now. I have found some interesting people to follow, Adam Savage, Grant Imahara, Emma Stone, Weird Al Yankovic, and Riann Wilson. So far it seems pretty much like Facebook status updates but quicker and shorter. Anyways now I’m on twitter, so you can follow me and stalk me and find out what I’m doing with my life here. Now you won’t see me twittering all day, but occasionally I show up there or twitter from the disc golf course, whenever I remember to do it. I currently twitter from Digsby and text messages so you can find me anywhere.

This past Sunday the Simpsons was shown for the first time in HD. It was also debuted a new intro for the first time in 19 years.

There has been a lot of hatred for the new episodes of the Simpsons saying that they changed and not for the better. However I still feel that there is some entertainment in the Simpsons and would rather watch the new episodes rather then Family Guy or American Dad. Of course if they get rid of the Simpsons they need to bring back Futurama.

Windows 7 is a vast improvement over Vista and XP in terms of speed and accessibility. The major difference from Vista and XP in Windows 7 is the task bar. Before the task bar used to just hold the open windows and have quick launch and system tray. That’s all changed now in Windows 7. The taskbar still has a system tray and start/menu button but the quick launch is on steroids. Check this video out to see some of the new features.

Here you can see the pin, unpin, open window boxes when  click and dragging up on an icon in task bar. If you have multiple windows it will also display the different names of the windows and you can click on those individually.

This is the thumbnail previews that pop up when you hover over something in the taskbar. When windows are grouped this feature is a huge plus.

  Hovering is completely new to Windows 7. When a thumbnail pops up you can over your mouse over it and it will show that window and hide the other windows. Its useful if your working and somebody IMs you but you don’t want to stop working you just over and display the conversation and then go back to working.

This is the system tray. In the old versions of Windows there was a arrow that would expand the system trap to show the hidden items, now its a pop-up window.

Overall Windows 7 is a major upgrade from Vista or XP. I have had no problems or crashes with it at all. Boot-up time is about 35 seconds to get to a working desktop, where on Vista it is around a minute. Programs seem to launch faster as well, although I haven’t installed Adobe CS4 yet. There is also a new feature called "Aero Shake" which if you have a lot of windows open and take one of them and drag it really fast across the window it will minimize all the other windows.
